Adoption Criteria

 

 

In order to be considered for an adoption you must meet the following criteria:

- Be at least 21 years of age

- Have identification showing your present address

- Have the consent of all adults living in the household

- Own your own home, or, if you rent, have the landlord’s consent to have a pet

 

Adoption Process

 

 

- Contact us about the pet you are interested in adopting and ask any specific pet-related questions

- Complete the Adoption Application below

- Complete a Zoom/FaceTime interview so we can see the feline's new living arrangements

- Schedule a time to meet your new feline friend

- If it's a purr-fect match, complete the Adoption Contract and take your new family member home

 

NOTE: Adoption is not officially complete until 21 days after the cat has been in your home to make sure it is a good match for both the cat and everyone in the home.

At No Place Like Home, we match the cat to the household. We do not adopt first-come, first-served. We want you to love your cat and we want your new cat to be comfortable in your home and with you.
 
Please do not be offended if your application is not approved for your desired cat. It just means that we know the personalities of our resuces and we know it would not have been a lifelong fit. Please allow 3 business days for your application to be reviewed, although most are reviewed in 1 business day.

I agree to take my cat to a veterinarian for regular physical exams. If I do not already have a veterinarian I will get established with one within 30 days of adoption.

I agree to only transport this cat in a hard-sided pet carrier and will use the carrier every time the cat is placed in a vehicle.

I will not immediately euthanize this cat upon diagnosis of a chronic and/or treatable health issue:

I agree that I will return the cat to No Place Like Home if I am unable to care for this cat at any point in the future. I will not abandon this cat or give it to another shelter or rescue group.

I am financially capable of caring for this cat, providing quality food, supplies and medical care, including annual exams and emergency care if needed.
